2010 Ao Chalong Yacht Club Race Programme

The Ao Chalong Yacht Club 2010 Race Series starts Sunday March 7. The Club will host 16 races in two series this year.

The first series, the ANDAMAN CABRIOLET SERIES, sponsored by Composite Catamarans, will begin on the 7th of March.

The second Series, the TAMARIND VILLA SERIES, sponsored by Tamarind Villa Phuket will begin on August 15. There will be breaks for regional regattas including the Phuket Multihull Regatta (July 16-18) and Six Senses Phuket Raceweek (July 21-25).

Eligibility and entry – The series is open to all keel yachts and multihulls with a length overall of greater than 6 metres. Eligible boats may enter by completing an entry form on each race day and by paying the racing nomination fee (100 baht for members, 300 baht for non members) to the Race Officer or appointed ACYC representative.

Classes – Racing monohulls, Cruising monohulls, Multihulls.

Course – Ao Chalong Bay and surrounding area, details announced at race briefing pending prevailing conditions.

Rules - The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012.

Handicap system – Performance handicap system as managed and monitored by the ACYC.

Prizes – Overall series prizes for 1st – 2nd - 3rd place in each division will be awarded. Individual race prizes will be awarded to podium finishers on race day pending number of entries.
