'Wet and Wild' an art exhibition by Robin Gillow
Those who enjoy the fine strokes of art, those made only by an award-winning artist, will welcome and relish the opportunity to view local artist Robin Gillow's pieces.
From horses, race yachts, land and seascapes, portraits to commercial work, Robin's work displays a diversity in both style and mediums used with the paintings exhibited featuring an array of different techniques. While many of the pieces use soft pencil or watery tones, her latest oil pieces depict bright colours, bold, free brush strokes and a sense of chaos with subtle balances between light, colour and form. Her work is vibrant and ‘out-spoken' and clearly illustrates her remarkable ability to ‘capture the moment’ no matter what medium or technique is used.

As a highly prolific artist who has exhibited her work internationally with a showcase in Ireland this year and one in Germany in several years time, this occasion marks the first time in a while that Robin has displayed her works in Thailand. On display will be several pieces which have won in competitions.
Born in South Africa, Robin regularly exhibited her work at annual Inter-school Art Festivals during her school years and won many awards. She attended the Johannesburg High School for Art, Music and Ballet and then studied Graphic Design at the Johannesburg College of Art. She then became an art director at South Africa’s (at the time) largest publishing house and later held similar positions for advertising agencies and publishers in various countries.
Journeys and working experiences led to various lifestyles in countries with the latest resulting in a stay in Thailand. Robin arrived to Phuket on a boat from Australia more than ten years ago with her husband Kevin and daughter Mia.
