| The Regatta is organised by the Ao Chalong Yacht Club (ACYC) under the auspices of the Yacht Racing Authority of Thailand. |

| 1.0 | Rules | ||
| 1.1 | The Regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012 (RRS), and by The OMR rule for Multihulls (Ver. 4.06) The Firefly 850 Sports One Design Class Rules This Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions |

| 1.2 | In case of conflict, the Sailing Instructions will prevail (this changes RRS Rule 63.7). | ||
| 1.3 | ISAF Offshore Special Regulations Category 5 shall apply to all boats except that: |
||
| a. the requirement to be self-righting will not apply; and | |||
| b. lifelines will not be required | |||
| 1.4 | No national authority prescriptions will apply. | ||
| 1.5 | Advertising on a boat or by its crew is permitted in accordance with the ISAF Advertising Code (formerly Category C). | ||
| 1.6 | The Organisers may require all participating boats to display event advertising in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20.4. | ||
| 1.7 |
The Sailing Instructions will be available at Registration. |
||
| 2.0 | Eligibility and Entry | ||
| 2.1 | The Regatta is open to all multihulls (catamarans and trimarans) acceptable to the Race Committee. | ||
| 2.2 | The Regatta will have the following classes (subject to entries received):
Class 1 Racing Multihulls with valid OMR ratings. Class 2 Firefly 850 Sports One Design. Class 3 Cruising Multihulls without OMR ratings. These boats will be given an arbitrary rating by the Race Committee. |

| 2.3 | The Race Committee may change the above eligibility factors and number of classes based on its analysis of entries received. The Race Committee reserves the right to allocate a boat to a class or division according to the entries received. This allocation will not be subject to protest or request fro redress. (This Changes RRS Rules 60.1(b) and 62.1). | ||
| 2.4 | Application for entry shall be made on the official Entry Form which is available at ACYC and online at the ACYC web site (www.acyc-phuket.com). Entries should be submitted to ACYC (info@acyc-phuket.com). Entries may be made up until close of registration at 20.00 on 15 July 2010. | ||
| 2.5 |
The entry fee includes participation of the skipper. An additional fee is payable at the time of registration for each participating crew member. There will also be a fee payable by supporters participating in any of the official functions of the Regatta. |

| 4.0 | Courses | ||
| 4.1 | Racing will take place in or in the environs of Ao Chalong. | ||
| 4.2 | Courses will be chosen to take into account prevailing or forecast conditons for each race. | ||
| 4.3 | Windward/leeward courses will be located in Ao Chalong. | ||
| 4.4 | Coastal courses will take place around islands, fixed navigation marks and inflatable buoys in and in the environs of Ao Chalong. | ||
| 4.5 | Course diagrams will be issued with the Sailing Instructions. |

| 5.0 | Penalty System |
||
| For all classes, RRS Rule 44.1 is changed so that only one 360 degree turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required. |

| 6.0 | Scoring System | ||
| 6.1 | The Series will be scored as provided in RRS Appendix A using the Low Point system. | ||
| 6.2 | For all classes, 5 races are scheduled. Two races shall be completed to constitute a series. |

| 7.0 | Crew Weight | ||
| 7.1 | Racing Multihulls In accordance with OMR Ver 4.06, each boat shall declare a minimum crew weight, WCD, or accept the default crew weight, WC, as determined by the OMR rule. It is advised that crews “weigh in” before the start of the regatta at Registration. Otherwise, crews may be required to weigh in during the regatta. Scales will be provided at the ACYC. | 7.2 | Firefly 850 Sports One Design WCD will be in accordance with class rules. |
||
| 7.3 | Cruising Multhulls (without OMR ratings) WCD will not apply. |
||
| 8.0 | Jury | ||
| 8.1 | A Jury shall be appointed by the Race Committee. | ||
| 8.2 | Decisions of the jury shall be final and shall not be subject to appeal. |
||
| 9.0 | Prizes | ||
| 9.1 | A trophy will be awarded to the winning yacht in each class. | ||
| 9.2 | Second and third place prizes will also be awarded in each class. |
||
| 10.0 | Inspection | ||
| All yachts shall be liable for inspection in accordance with applicable safety and measurement requirements. |

| 11.0 | Insurance | ||
| Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance to a minimum cover ot Thai Baht Twenty Million (or equivalent) for the duration of the event. |

| 12.0 | Disclaimer | ||
| Competitors participate in the Regatta entirely at their own risk - see RRS Rule 4, Decision to Race. The Organisers, Race Committee, Regatta Sponsors and their representatives, officers, members and volunteers accept no liability whatsoever for any loss of life, property, personal injury, or damage caused by or arising out of the Regatta. | |||
